SEC Championship Game - LSU v. UGA - Saturday, Dec. 3rd @ 4:00 p.m.

Tigers are 12 - 0, SEC West Division Champs and headed to the SEC Championship Game. The slow start against Arkansas was a bit worrisome but it was great to see the team quickly rally. Now the Tigers just need to take care of business against the Bulldogs. The game should be very loud with the GeorgiaDome packed with Dawg fans. Of course, LSU is no stranger to that setting and have come to know it as our second home. The atmosphere should be electric. But for those not traveling to the game, come out and watch with the First Coast LSU group. We will be at Hurricane Grill and Wings (Baymeadows and 9A). Come and cheer.

LSU #1, LEADING THE SEC DOMINATION OF THE BCS

With the SEC West dominating the BCS polls at 1 -2 -3, our Tigers are looking very good. This weekend is a must-win game to make it to the SEC Championship game. The "Battle for the Golden Boot' should be a good game. This should be a strong offensive and defensive game. LSU is picked as the favorite by 2 touchdowns.

Come join the 1st Coast Tigers for our final regular season game. We'll be at Hurricane's Grill & Wings on Baymeadows Road at 9A, in the Publix shopping center. Kickoff is at 2:30, so bring the family out; avoid the Black Friday shopping and enjoy some quality time.

LSU v. Ole Miss - Sat. 11/19 @ 7:00 p.m.

The LSU Tigers are still #1 and looking strong. Last week was a slow start against the Hilltoppers but managed to excel in the second half. Now we are taking on the Ole Miss Rebels in the Magnolia Bowl. Although the Rebs are only 2 - 8, this perennial match up could have some excitement. This is the 100th meeting between the Tigers and Rebels.

The game starts at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, so come join us at Hurricane's Grill and Wings (Baymeadows Road and 9A, in the Publix shopping plaza).

HOMECOMING - LSU v. Western Kentucky - 11/12/11 @ 7:00 p.m.

LSU Tigers are still #1. It has been a great season, especially beating 'Bama this past week. This weekend the Tigers will be taking on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers for their Homecoming game. The Hilltoppers are 5 - 4 (5-1 in the Sunbelt). After last weeks nail-biter, lets up the Tigers don't have a let down and are ready to take care of business.

We will be watching the game at Hurricane's Grill and Wings (10920 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256). The game starts at 7:00 p.m. ET. It will be on ESPNU for us to watch.

And I apologize for being remiss in my postings for this page. Its been a very busy Fall for me and time keeps getting away.

I hope we have a big crowd for the game this Saturday. Come out and join us.

#1 Tigers take on the Volunteers

It's been a great week in J'ville, at least from my perspective. With LSU still #1 and having defeated the Gators, things have been quiet from the normal braggarts. And I've made sure to wear something with LSU on it every time I leave the house.

This week, we face the Volunteers. Sure, they are not having a great year and just lost to Georgia. But the last time Tennessee played LSU when it was ranked #1, they beat them. So this game cannot be taken lightly.

Kickoff for this game is at 3:39 p.m. on Saturday. We will be gathering to watch the game at Hurricane's Grill and Wings (Baymeadows Road and 9A). I hope you can make it. It's always fun to have a big crowd when cheering on the Tigers.

#1 Tigers v. Gators - Rival Time in the River City

It's that time of year again, when we get to tease our friends and co-workers, make ridiculous and potentially embarrassing bets and plan for an exciting Saturday. I know a lot of you are planning on going to B.R. for the game. Safe travels and remember, be good hosts to the guests in our house.

For those of you staying home, why not meet us at Hurricane's Grill & Wings (Baymeadows Rd. & 9A), to watch the game among friends and rivals. We know that there will probably be a big Gator crowd there, as anywhere in Jacksonville, but we should have a nice group of people to watch with. Safety in numbers. Kickoff is at 3:30, so get there early to get a good seat.

So let's get together and cheer on our #1 Tigers as they take on the Gators. It could be an exciting game. As someone keeps pointing out to me, the last time the Gators traveled to Louisiana to play a higher ranked Tiger team, with a brand new freshman quarterback, the Gators won. That was with Chris Leake. And as I point out, we won the National Championship that year. I don't think the Gators will have the same kind of luck this year but it should be fun.

BTW, this is the "Gold" game in Tiger stadium, so where your gold tops.

LOUISIANA WEEKEND IN JACKSONVILLE

The LSU Tigers are #1 and exciting things are happening. Jordan Jefferson is back at practice, along with Josh Johns. This weekend the Tigers face the Kentucky Wildcats and, although Kentucky did not play well last weekend against Florida, I am slightly concerned about this game. After all, kickoff is in the A.M. on LSU's campus which is not our favorite time to play. However, we are looking strong. The Defense needs to step up the pass rush a bit before next weekends match-up the Gators, but we'll worry about that later.

Now, its just getting organized to come out and join us at Hurricane's Grill and Wings on Baymeadows Road at 9A for the 12:20 kickoff of the game.

To add to our great weekend and the "cool" front coming in, Cool Brees and the New Orleans Saints will be in town taking on the Jaguars on Sunday. I know we will have lots of out of town guests from home and many local Tigers have gotten their tickets for the game. Trying to hook up with those interested in tailgating. We are going to get their early to get a spot in the WJCT lot. Let me know where you are going to be.

Let's have a great GOLD weekend, with a little bit of purple and black missed in.

LSU #2 in AP Poll - Ready for the Demons

What an exciting game last Saturday. The Defense stood up and did what was needed, plus a solid performance by the offense (and former Wampus Cat, Michael Ford), help LSU beat Oregon and move up in the AP poll to #2 and in the Coaches' poll to #3.

Now we are ready to take on the Northwestern State Demons. This is the home opener, so there should be a lot of electricity about it. I don't know about you, but I have a lot of friends from both sides going to the game. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it, so I'm going to join by Jacksonville friends at Hurricane's Grill & Wings (10920 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL).

We had a great crowd last week. Hurricanes were wonderful hosts and had the place running well. We will have designated televisions and Abita beer specials. Come out and join us.

2011 Football - Here We Come!

Football season is fast approaching and I, for one, am getting very excited. LSU is ranked in the top 5 starting the season and predicted by some to win the Championship this year.

The season will start off with a great game against Oregon, which is being played in the mega-dome in Dallas. For those not able or willing to travel to Texas to watch the game, the First Coast LSU Tigers will be gathering at a new location this season. We will be a Hurricane Grill & Wings at 10920 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256, to watch the game. Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3rd. Hurricane's is located on Baymeadows Road near 9A, in the Publix Shopping Center (across from where Times Grill was).

Come out and join us.
